Website Upgraded to Better Promote Public Service Job
Opportunities
An easier, quicker way to find career opportunities
with the provincial public service will soon be
available to the public. Effective November 26, the
Public Service Commission job competitions website will
be upgraded to offer additional features to assist in
searching and applying for public service job
opportunities in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Using the Internet is an important tool in helping
those who are trying to find a job or choosing a career
path, said the Honourable Tom Marshall, Minister of
Finance and Minister Responsible for the Public Service
Commission. As an employer, the Government of
Newfoundland and Labrador has a lot to offer and this
upgraded website will further enhance our efforts to
promote current job opportunities and make it easier for
those interested in a career in the public service to
apply.
The Public Service Commissions improved online
recruitment system will streamline information and
further enhance communication with job applicants.
Applicants will have the ability to set up a user
profile, apply online and track the status of their
application. The system will increase the potential to
reach many more potential job applicants, resulting in
an expanded candidate selection pool.
This system will tap into a growing recruitment trend,
said Minister Marshall. It is one more tool that will
help build and strengthen even further a dynamic and
skilled public service which serves the people of
Newfoundland and Labrador. I encourage all who are
considering a career path with the provincial public
service to check out this new website.
The Public Service Commission is committed to
proactively promoting the provincial public service as
an employer of choice. It is responsible for
appointments to and promotions within the public
service. It also offers a range of programs, policies,
and services to support departments and individuals in
achieving individual and workplace health and
productivity.
