Media Advisory: Minister to Attend Opening of
New Office for Multicultural Women’s Organization of Newfoundland and Labrador

The Honourable Kathy Dunderdale, Minister Responsible for the Status of Women, will participate in the official opening of the new office of the Multicultural Women’s Organization of Newfoundland and Labrador (MWONL) tomorrow (Wednesday, August 19) at 2:30 p.m. at the Nuport Building, 44 Torbay Road, St John’s.

MWONL is a voluntary, non-profit organization that promotes positive relationships among ethnic minorities and the local population, businesses and government. It also provides information and support to women of differing cultures. In Budget 2009: Building on Our Strong Foundation, the Provincial Government allocated $100,000 in annual funding to the organization.
