Media Advisory: Minister Attending Gathering of
Counterparts from Voluntary and Non-Profit Sector

The Honourable Dave Denine, Minister Responsible for the Volunteer and Non-Profit Sector and Minister for Intergovernmental Affairs, will be in Halifax next week attending the 2009 Annual Counterparts Gathering. The event will provide an opportunity for dialogue between members of the voluntary sector and provincial and territorial governments on building healthy and deliberate relationships, and creating the right environments for a strong voluntary sector.

The event is being hosted by the Honourable Pat Dunn, Nova Scotia Minister of Volunteerism, and the Honourable Brian Kenny, New Brunswick Minister Responsible for Community Non-Profit Organizations. The theme for this year�s event is Building Sustainable Relationships between the Non-profit/Voluntary Sector and Provincial/Territorial Governments.

The gathering begins Sunday, February 8, at 7:00 p.m. and concludes Tuesday, February 10, at 3:30 p.m. at the Lord Nelson Hotel and Suites, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
