Atlantic Canada Premiers� Mission - February 8-9, 2009

The Council of Atlantic Premiers� Communications and Business Outreach Mission will take place in Calgary, Alberta, on February 8-9, 2009. Shawn Graham, Premier of New Brunswick; Robert Ghiz, Premier of Prince Edward Island; Cecil Clarke, Attorney General and Minister of Justice of Nova Scotia; and Shawn Skinner, Minister of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development of Newfoundland and Labrador, will be accompanied by a delegation of Atlantic Canadian business leaders.

Premiers and ministers will promote the region�s world-class expertise, high quality products and services, and innovative companies. The mission will focus on strengthening and enhancing trade partnerships between the four Atlantic provinces and Alberta and showcasing how companies in Atlantic Canada can quickly and efficiently supply companies in Alberta with the goods and services they need. The mission will also illustrate how governments and businesses can work together in the current global economic environment.

This luncheon event is open to the media, and media availability will follow at 1:45 p.m. in the Oval Room, Fairmont Palliser.

A media release will be distributed following the Atlantic Premiers� Luncheon and will also be accessible at www.cap-cpma.ca. Please note that:

  1. All media, including journalists, photographers, camera operators, and technicians, are requested to register by submitting their name, affiliation, and contact information by 5:00 p.m., Friday, February 6, 2009, to Natasha Farrell, Regional Co-ordinator-Communications, Council of Atlantic Premiers.
  2. Media must sign in upon arrival at the premiers� luncheon.
  3. Media will have access to the Oval Room, Fairmont Palliser hotel, approximately fifteen minutes before the start of the media opportunity.
  4. All registered media will be notified directly of any changes to the itinerary.
