Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Charlene Johnson, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has
announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the
Environmental Protection Act.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT ACCEPTED:

Schefferville Area Iron Ore Mine (James and Redmond Properties)
Proponent: Labrador Iron Mines Limited (Reg. 1379)

A review has been completed of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) as revised for
this proposed undertaking. This re-submitted EIS complies with Part X of the Environmental Protection Act (the Act) and the Guidelines of 2008 12 12 for this Project, and requires no further work. The Minister will now be recommending to the Lieutenant-Governor in Council whether or not this Project can proceed as per Section 67 of the Act, subject to terms and conditions.
