Media Advisory: Coastal Stewardship Agreement Signings in Labrador

The Honourable John Hickey, Minister of Labrador and Aboriginal Affairs, on behalf of the Honourable Charlene Johnson, Minister of Environment and Conservation, will sign coastal stewardship agreements with the towns of St Lewis, Marys Harbour and Red Bay on Monday, November 9.

The agreement signing ceremony will take place in Marys Harbour at the Raymond C. Rumbolt Memorial Recreation Centre at 11:15 a.m.

The Coastal Stewardship Program was developed by the Eastern Habitat Joint Venture (EHJV) to encourage communities that have a historic relationship with coastal areas frequented by eider ducks to recognize the value of this resource and to accept a stewardship role in maintaining their integrity. The Newfoundland and Labrador division of the EHJV is administered through the Department of Environment and Conservation.
