Environmental Assessment Bulletin
The Honourable Charlene Johnson, Minister of
Environment and Conservation, has announced the following events relative to Part 10
Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.
UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:
Grand Falls � Windsor Gravel/Sand Quarry Newhook�s
Cranberry Farm Inc. (Reg. 1451)
The proponent plans to expand an abandoned quarry to
one hectare. Sand and gravel removed from the quarry
will used in the operation of the proponent�s cranberry
farm. The proposed site is approximately 3.3 kilometres
north of Grand Falls � Windsor along Ivany�s Road and 50
metres south of Peter�s River. Site preparation and
material extraction is scheduled to begin in the fall of
2009.
The undertaking was registered on October 15, 2009;
public comments are due by November 20, 2009; and, the
Minister�s decision is due by November 27, 2009.
UNDERTAKING REJECTED:
Wilburn Bay Road Fox Farm, Happy Valley-Goose Bay

Proponent: Mr. Fred Vincent (Reg. 1441)
Crown Land Title will not be issued due to
unacceptable effects on existing land users in
surrounding areas such as cottages, recreational uses
and the operation of 5 Wing Goose Bay.
