The Honourable Charlene Johnson, Minister of Environment and
Conservation, has announced the following events relative to Part 10
Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.
UNDERTAKINGS REGISTERED:
Peters River Cranberry Farm
Proponent: Peters River Cranberry (TBI)

The proposal is to develop a 100 hectare cranberry bog in the Wooddale
area, at the end of Wooddale South Road, and adjacent to Peters River.
Construction will include the development of the upper area of the bog
into 15 hectares of cranberry field beds, with a reservation of
approximately 30 hectares in the lower bog for future expansion. This
development will include an irrigation/sediment pond, auxiliary
buildings, water control structures, drainage tile in the bed, an access
road, and berm construction. Harvesting includes flooding each field
with 45 centimetres of water, independently, and removal with a
cranberry beater. The project is scheduled to commence in July 2009 if
approved.
The undertaking was registered on June 8, 2009, 2009; public comments
are due by July 15, 2009; and, the minister�s decision is due by July
23, 2009.
Red Cliff Cranberry Farm
Proponent: Stuart Dyke

The proposal is to develop a cranberry farm on a peat bog located west
of the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor, adjacent to the Trans Canada
Trailway near Rushy Pond. Construction will include the development of a
portion of the bog into approximately 40.5 hectares of cranberry field
beds. This development will include an irrigation/ sediment pond,
auxiliary buildings, water control structures, drainage tile in the bed,
and berm construction. Harvesting includes flooding each field with 45
centimetres of water, independently, and removal with a cranberry
beater. The project is scheduled to commence in July 2009 if approved.

Glenfair Farms Cranberry Farm
Proponent: Glenfair Farms Ltd.

The proposal is to develop and operate a cranberry farm on land
currently owned by the proponent in the Wooddale agricultural zone, six
kilometres from New Bay Road, east of Grand Falls-Windsor. The site is
primarily comprised of peat bog that had been drained and previously
used for forage production. The total area of the proposal is 20
hectares, which includes 10 hectares of cranberry field beds developed
over two years. Construction will consist of cranberry bed development,
peat removal, berm construction, including farm service roads on the
berms (six metres wide), construction of an irrigation/sediment pond,
installation of water control structures, installation of drainage tile
in the beds and placement of sand on new cranberry beds. Harvesting
consists of flooding each field, dislodging the cranberries with a
beater and gathering with a boom. The project is scheduled to commence
upon approval.

RECON Cranberry Farm (Peter's River Area)

The proposal is to develop a 100 hectare cranberry bog in the east of
Wooddale, north of Route 350, in the Peters River basin. Construction
will include the development of bog into 26 hectares of cranberry field
beds. This development will include an irrigation/sediment pond,
auxiliary buildings, water control structures, drainage tile in the bed,
an access road, and berm construction. Harvesting includes flooding each
field with 45 centimetres of water, independently, and removal with a
cranberry beater. The project is scheduled to commence in July 2009 if
approved.

Northern Brook, Botwood Cranberry Farm

The proposal is to develop a 140 hectare cranberry bog in the Northern
Arm area, off the Northern Arm Brook Resource Road, and adjacent to
Northern Arm Brook to the south. Construction will include the
development of the lower area of the bog into 14 hectares of cranberry
field beds, with a reservation of approximately 6 hectares in the
central bog for future expansion. This development will include an
irrigation/sediment pond, auxiliary buildings, water control structures,
drainage tile in the bed, an access road, and berm construction.

independently, and removal with a cranberry beater. The project is
scheduled to commence in July 2009 if approved.

Wooddale Cranberry Farm

The proposal is to develop a 94 hectare cranberry bog in the north
Wooddale, off the Wooddale North Access Road. Construction will include
the development of bog into 17 hectares of cranberry field beds. This
development will include an irrigation/sediment pond, auxiliary
buildings, water control structures, drainage tile in the bed, an access
road, and berm construction. Harvesting includes flooding each field
with 45 centimetres of water, independently, and removal with a
cranberry beater. The project is scheduled to commence in July 2009 if
approved.

JAG Cranberry Farm
Proponent: JAG Sod Farm Ltd.

The proposal is to develop a 60 hectare domed peat bog located 12
kilometres south of the TCH on the west side of the Bay D�espoir
Highway. Construction will include the development of a portion of the
bog into approximately 6 hectares of cranberry field beds. This
development will include an irrigation/sediment pond, auxiliary
buildings, water control structures, drainage tile in the bed, and berm
construction. Harvesting includes flooding each field with 45
centimetres of water, independently, and removal with a cranberry
beater. The project is scheduled to commence in July 2009 if approved.

Tommy's Arm River Bridge
Proponent: Town of Robert's Arm
(Reg. 1432)
The proposal includes a 92 metre bridge at the mouth of Tommy�s Arm
River, in the southwest corner of Crescent Lake. The bridge is to
connect existing snowmobile/ walking trails to provide a continuous loop
around the eastern half of Crescent Lake. Construction will include
concrete pillars, steel beams for the framework, wooden decking and
appropriate railing. The project is scheduled to commence in July 2009
if approved.

by July 15, 2009; and, the minister�s decision is due by July 25, 2009.
Lark Harbour to Wild Cove ATV/Hiking Trail
Proponent: Roy Gilbert
(Reg. 1433)
The proposal is to upgrade an existing trail that begins at Little Port,
Lark Harbour and continues 25 kilometres to Wild Cove. Construction will
include grading and inserting culverts at stream crossings. The project
is to commence upon approval.
