Media Advisory: Arbor Day Proclamation Signing and Tree Planting

The Honourable Charlene Johnson, Minister of Environment and Conservation, along with Landscape Newfoundland and Labrador, will sign a proclamation to establish the first day of June each year as Arbor Day in Newfoundland and Labrador. The proclamation signing will take place on Monday, June 1, in the main boardroom of the Department of Environment and Conservation, fourth floor, West Block, Confederation Building at 2:00 p.m.

Immediately following the proclamation signing, the minister will proceed to the grounds of Confederation Building to plant a tree to commemorate the province�s first Arbor Day and to celebrate Environment Week, May 31-June 6.

Landscape Newfoundland and Labrador is a non-profit professional association of business owners and operators in the landscaping and horticultural (non-food) industry sector in the province.
