Environment and Conservation January 16, 2009 Environmental Assessment Bulletin The Honourable Charlene Johnson, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act. ENVIRONMENTAL PREVIEW REPORT RECEIVED: Old Perlican Chitin Plant (Reg. 1382) The proponent has submitted an Environmental Preview Report (EPR) for the proposed chitin plant as required by the minister on July 17, 2008. The EPR was required to address deficiencies in the registration document to determine the significance of any environmental effects. Guidelines for the preparation of the EPR were issued on September 30, 2008. Public comments regarding the EPR are welcome and must be received no later than February 20, 2009. The document can be viewed on the website indicated below.
