Deadline for Close of Official Nominations
in the Electoral District of Terra Nova

The deadline for receipt of a candidate�s official nomination papers is 2:00 pm. Monday, November 16, 2009 at the District Returning Officer�s office at 77 Main Street, Glovertown.

An impending candidate should call the returning officer, Ms. Sandra Holloway at 533-9590 and arrange an appointment to be nominated

In order to be a candidate you must be:

• A Canadian Citizen
• 18 years of Age on official Nomination Day
• Ordinarily resident in the Province the day before Nomination Day
• Not disqualified by the Elections Act or another Act for election to or sitting in the House of Assembly

A candidate does not have to run in the electoral district where he/she resides.

If you are not associated with or a member of a registered political party your political affiliation on the ballot paper will be �non affiliated� unless you file a document with the district returning officer at the time of nomination requesting that �non affiliated� be omitted from any election documents.

Remember to call the returning officer for the electoral district of Terra Nova, Ms. Sandra Holloway at 533-9590 to arrange for your official nomination.
