Latest Appointment Made to MUN Board of Regents

The Honourable Joan Burke, Minister of Education, announced today the latest appointment to Memorial University�s Board of Regents. Kathleen Roul of Lawn joins the board effective immediately, replacing Jeanette Lundrigan.

"Serving on the Board of Regents requires dedication and commitment," said Minister Burke. "The board is a critical organization that supports the operations of Memorial University. Members volunteer their knowledge and expertise to make our university a world-class institution. I thank Ms. Lundrigan for her service and welcome Ms. Roul on board."

Ms. Roul has a bachelor of arts, bachelor of education, and master of education from Memorial University. She has been teaching in Lawn on the Burin Peninsula since 1991. She served as vice-principal at Holy Name of Mary Academy, and since 2004, has been the school�s principal.

Memorial University�s Board of Regents is responsible for the management, administration and the affairs of the university. It comprises a diverse group of individuals representing business, social and educational sectors as well as students.

"The Board of Regents plays a critical role in shaping our province�s university system," said Minister Burke. "I am pleased we have a team in place that has the skills, dedication and enthusiasm to lead the university in the coming years, and who are ready to embrace the challenges and rewards of guiding the university�s affairs."
