Students Awarded Scholarships Sponsored by Housing

For some Newfoundland Labrador Housing (Housing) tenants in the province, pursuing an education is paying off. Each year, Housing awards scholarships to high school graduates and adults pursuing a post-secondary education. The scholarships are awarded in the Avalon/East, Central and Western/Labrador regions to tenants children and adult tenants returning to school. Each scholarship is valued at $1,000. The winners were announced today by the Honourable Trevor Taylor, Minister Responsible for Housing and Minister of Transportation and Works.

"It is so encouraging to see these youth and adults focus on an education," said Minister Taylor. "In todays competitive society, an education is necessary to get ahead. These scholarship winners obviously realize the importance of obtaining an education in order to reach their goals. I offer my sincere congratulations to the scholarship winners on their achievement and wish them all the best in their future endeavours."
