Government Invests $1.5 Million in Grand Falls-Windsor-Green Bay South Roads

Motorists in the Grand Falls-Windsor-Green Bay South area will benefit from $1.5 million in road upgrades this summer.

"This year, $182 million will be invested in our province�s transportation infrastructure," said the Honourable Dianne Whalen, Minister of Transportation and Works. "Included in that amount is our government�s $73 million Provincial Roads Improvement Program."

As part of the Provincial Roads Improvement Program for Grand Falls-Windsor-Green Bay South, a section of of Route 380, Robert's Arm Road, will be resurfaced.

"I welcome the $1.5 million allocated for road improvements in our district," said Ray Hunter, MHA for Grand Falls-Windsor-Green Bay South. "Safe, comfortable roads are important to motorists and I will continue to work with Minister Whalen to improve the transportation infrastructure in Grand Falls-Windsor-Green Bay South."

The Provincial Roads Improvement Program will create an estimated 1,400 person years of employment and is part of the Provincial Government�s infrastructure strategy, valued at more than $2 billion.
