Public Advisory: Apollo Ferry Service Schedule Update

Travellers and shippers availing of the Apollo ferry service between the communities of St. Barbe and Blanc Sablon are advised that the operating season of the Apollo will end Wednesday, January 23.

However, travellers and shippers should be prepared for termination of the service before January 23, if ice conditions dictate. The service was originally scheduled to end on January 16, but conditions permitted a one-week extension.

The decision to end the service on January 23 was made by the Department of Transportation and Works after consultations with the Canadian Coast Guard and Labrador Marine Inc. Regardless of conditions after January 23, Labrador Marine Inc. needs to take the vessel out of service to undergo refits which will prepare the ferry for an early start to next season.
