Media Advisory: Photography Exhibit Five Decades in the Making to Open at The Rooms Provincial Archives

The exhibition, James Andersen: Over 50 Years of Taking Pictures will open this evening at The Rooms.

The culmination of over five decades of photographic work documenting life in Makkovik, Labrador, the stories that accompany James Andersen�s work focus on how Mr. Andersen has meticulously captured the traditions of daily life in Labrador communities. Guest curated by Rhonda Buckley, this exhibition was produced by the Nunatsiavut Government in partnership with The Rooms Provincial Archives.

There will be an opening reception for James Andersen: Over 50 Years of Taking Pictures, Thursday, May 15, at 7:30 p.m. This event is open to the public and media are welcome to attend.

A large delegation of elected officials and senior staff from the Nunatsiavut Government will be attending, as will James Andersen himself, who will also be playing music at the opening.

James Andersen: Over 50 Years of Taking Pictures will be on display at The Rooms from May 16 through August 24, 2008.
