Edge Diving Club Big Winners at Atlantic Diving Championships in Halifax

Seven divers from the Edge Diving Club scored some very impressive results at the Atlantic Diving Championships, held April 19-20 in Halifax.

Kaitlin Thomas of St. John's won two gold and a silver and qualified for the Age Group Nationals this summer in London, Ontario. She was also named the Atlantic Champion for her age group (9-11).

Aaron Thorne of Torbay earned a gold and two silver medals and also qualified for the Nationals in one-metre, three metres, and platform events, to be held in Thunder Bay, Ontario in July.

Kate McCarthy of Holyrood won silver and bronze on the platform event; Riley Crane won a silver on platform, and Liam Maher won bronze on platform and three metre.

Coach Jill Brewer noted that five of the divers met the national qualifying standard, the most to do so in over 10 years.

Christopher Kent and Quinn Crane also competed and earned personal bests. The Newfoundland and Labrador divers competed against clubs from the other Atlantic Provinces, Ontario and Quebec.
