Tourism, Culture and Recreation April 4, 2008 The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador: Provincial Basketball Championships The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association
will have 38 teams in play this weekend, April 4-6 competing for the U16
Boys and Girls Championships. GC Rowe of Corner Brook will host the West Coast Boys event with seven teams vying for the title. Roncalli of Avondale will host the East Coast Girls A with eight teams entered while St. Catherine�s in Mt. Carmel will host the six team B championship. PWC of St. John�s will host the East Coast Boys A with nine teams entered while St. Kevin�s High in the Gould�s hosts the eight team B event. Play gets under way on Friday afternoon and will conclude with the championship games on Sunday.
