Tourism, Culture ad Recreation April 1, 2008 Arts and Culture Centres Get Ready for 2008 Spring and Summer Lineups Newfoundland and Labrador�s six Arts and Culture Centres are gearing up for a busy 2008 spring and summer season with exciting schedules of events and activities. The Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, encourages all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians to visit their local centre and take in as many events as they can in the coming months. "Over the course of the spring and summer seasons, the provincial Arts and Culture Centres will continue to be the setting for both local and international performers as they entertain audiences of all ages," Minister Jackman said. "The lineup features exciting performances from a diverse selection of art forms." Minister Jackman said that the majority of performances to be showcased during the spring and summer months are being presented by local entertainers. "Newfoundland and Labrador�s artists contribute significantly to our social and economic well-being," Minister Jackman said. "I encourage residents of the province to attend a local performance and witness how the artists of this province help us celebrate our living culture."
