Tourism, Culture and Recreation February 14, 2008 The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador: Provincial Hoop Championships The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will have 45 teams in competition this weekend, February 15-17 for the U14 Boys and Girls Championships. GC Rowe of Corner Brook will host the West Coast Boys event with seven teams competing while Xavier Junior High in Deer Lake will entertain five girls� teams. The East Coast Boys A will take place in Mount Pearl Intermediate with eight teams registered while Mobile will host the eight team B division. The U14 Girls A will be hosted by St. Kevin�s in the Goulds with nine teams competing and Dunne Academy in St. Mary�s will host the eight team B event. Play gets under way on Friday afternoon and will conclude with the championship games on Sunday.
