Launch of New Website

Citizens Representative Barry Fleming Q.C. today announced that as part of an enhanced community outreach initiative, the Office of the Citizens Representative (OCR) has launched its new website.

Located at www.citizensrep.nl.ca the website offers information on the OCR as well as topics of interest for those wishing to file a complaint. The website also includes tips for self-advocacy, and visitors will note the inclusion of information for whistleblowers under Part VI of the House of Assembly Accountability, Integrity and Administration Act.

"Our new website is designed to provide both quick access to general information on our operations, and an improved platform from which to contact my office with a complaint or inquiry," said Mr. Fleming.

The website will also display the OCRs new logo, which employs a stylized "O" in line with many national and international Ombudsman counterparts.

The Citizens Representative is an Officer of the House of Assembly and is independent of both the political process and government administration. The office investigates and resolves complaints about provincial governmental organizations and, when appropriate, recommends corrective action. Services are free and confidential.
