Natural Resources February 21, 2008 Three Gambo Residents Plead Guilty to Wildlife Offences Tips from the public that led to investigations by Department of Natural Resources conservation officers have resulted in convictions of three residents of Gambo for violations of the Wildlife Act. On January 8, Terry Paul appeared in Provincial Court at Gander and pleaded guilty to hunting big game without a licence and hunting within 1,000 metres of a commercial logging operation. He was fined $1,300 and is prohibited from holding a big game licence for five years. Elias Collins also appeared in Provincial Court in Gander on January 8 and pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a big game animal. The court fined him $1,000 and prohibited him from holding a big game licence for five years. A quantity of moose meat and a firearm were also forfeited to the Crown. On February 8, Marilyn Penney pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a big game animal. The court fined Ms. Penney $1,000 for the offence and prohibited her from holding a big game licence for five years. A quantity of moose meat was also forfeited to the Crown.
