Public Advisory: Trans Canada Highway Between
Towns of Gander and Gambo Re-Opened

Officials from the Department of Transportation and Works and Fire and Emergency Services Newfoundland and Labrador are advising drivers in the central region of the province that the Trans Canada Highway between Gander and Gambo was re-opened earlier this morning; however, the highway is reduced to only two lanes to accommodate hoses being used to drain water in the area of Joey's Lookout. Motorists are asked to use extreme caution and to reduce their speed in the area.

The road was closed yesterday due to extensive rainfall in the region and the accumulation of run-off in the Joey's Lookout area.

The state of emergency in the Town of Gambo remains in effect. An update will be provided in the event that the situation changes.
