Media Advisory: Minister to Attend 2008
National Aboriginal Women’s Summit
The Honourable Patty Pottle, Minister of Aboriginal
Affairs, will be in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, July 29-31, to
attend the second annual National Aboriginal Women’s Summit (NAWS II).
The summit will provide an opportunity for Aboriginal
women from across Canada to build upon the recommendations coming out of
the first National Aboriginal Women’s Summit that took place in Corner
Brook in June 2007. The NAWS II agenda will include the following
themes: Health, Safety and Wellness; Equality and Empowerment; and,
Strength, Balance and Honour.
