Public Advisory: Snowmobile Enforcement Area Expanded

The Department of Natural Resources advises snowmobile users that provincial conservation officers will be enforcing regulations requiring snowmobiles to have a valid trail permit (sticker) under the Motorized Snow Vehicles and All-Terrain Vehicle Act on trails licensed to the Newfoundland and Labrador Snowmobile Federation (NLSF) and by Labrador Winter Trails Inc. (LWTI).

The enforcement area has expanded beyond the TRailway system to include trails licensed for the 2009 and future snowmobiling seasons. Snowmobilers are advised to become familiar with the trail systems to ensure compliance with the regulations.

Information on the snowmobile trails licensed to the NLSF will be available at www.nlsf.org. Information on trails in Labrador can be found at www.labradorwintertrails.com/
