Media Advisory: Minister to Announce Funding for Homework Haven

The Honourable Shawn Skinner, Minister of Human Resources, Labour and Employment, will announce funding for the Community Centre Alliance�s Homework Haven program at the Buckmaster�s Circle Community Centre at 3:30 p.m. today (Thursday, January 31).

Homework Haven provides volunteer-based homework support to children and youth in Grades 7-12. This program is a partnership between the Community Centre Alliance, Human Resources, Labour and Employment and Aliant.

The Community Centre Alliance is a not-for-profit organization that provides employment, education and empowerment opportunities to families and individuals living in five community centre neighbourhoods.
