Health and Community Services December 18, 2008 Public Advisory: Health Canada Releases Decision on the Use of Cough and Cold Products for Children Under Six The Department of Health and Community Services wishes to notify the public that Health Canada has issued a public advisory indicating that over-the-counter cough and cold medicines with particular active ingredients should not be used in children under six. Health Canada is advising manufacturers to re-label over-the-counter cough and cold medicines that have dosing information for children.
