Public Advisory: Important Notice for Residents who Receive Benefits Under the Newfoundland and Labrador Prescription Drug Program

The Department of Health and Community Services would like to advise residents who receive benefits under the NLPDP Newfoundland and Labrador Prescription Drug Program that pharmacies will be unable to bill prescriptions as usual for NLPDP clients on Saturday, October 25, and Sunday, October 26.

During that time, access to all Provincial Government websites will be unavailable to allow for electrical upgrades to be completed at the Confederation Building Complex. Pharmacies will therefore not have access to the NLPDP online system.

Residents who have a NLPDP drug card and will need prescriptions filled, are encouraged to visit their pharmacy before Saturday, October 25, or after Sunday, October 26. Otherwise, residents may also choose to pay in full up front for their prescriptions and submit receipts to the NLPDP for reimbursement.

If further information is needed, please call the NLPDP office at 1-888-859-3535.
