Occupational Health and Safety Branch Lays Charges Against Grand Falls-Windsor Company

The Department of Government Services announced today that a Grand Falls-Windsor company has been charged with three alleged violations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations. The charges arose from an inspection which occurred in Grand Falls-Windsor in November 2006. No accident or injury had occurred.

JEB Enterprises Ltd. is alleged to have violated legislation requiring fall protection when working above 3.05 metres, and requiring proper sills and guardrails when using scaffolding.

The first appearance for the company is scheduled for September 23, 2008, at Grand Falls-Windsor Provincial Court.

The charges are the result of an investigation by the Occupational Health and Safety Branch.
