Media Advisory: Council of Atlantic Premiers will
Convene in Summerside, P.E.I. on December 8

Premier Robert Ghiz will host the 16th Session of the Council of Atlantic Premiers in Summerside, P.E.I. on December 8, 2008.  Premiers Rodney MacDonald, Shawn Graham, and Danny Williams will attend.  During the meeting, premiers will discuss issues related to strengthening the economy of Atlantic Canada and the well-being of its residents, including the Atlantic Gateway, health promotion and wellness, and promoting the four Atlantic Provinces

Location/Time
The meeting will commence at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, December 8, 2008, at the Loyalist Country Inn, 195 Harbour Drive, Summerside, P.E.I.

Information for Media
A photo opportunity will be available between 8:50 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. in the Empire II Room at the Loyalist Inn.  A media conference will be held in Empire I at 2:00 p.m.  Simultaneous interpretation services will be provided during the media conference.

Media releases issued from the meeting will be distributed by each province�s communications office following the meeting and will be accessible at www.cap-cpma.ca. Please note that:

1.       All media representatives, including journalists, photographers, camera operators, and technicians, are requested to register by submitting their name, affiliation, and contact information by December 5 to Glenn Davis, Information Officer, Council of Atlantic Premiers.

2.       A media working area will be located in Room 156 and will be available beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, December 8.

3.       All registered media will be notified directly of any changes to the meeting schedule.
