The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador advises that the installation of the Lieutenant Governor designate, John Carnell Crosbie, P.C., O.C., Q.C., will be on Monday, February 4. The ceremony will take place in the House of Assembly at 2:30 p.m.

The ceremony will be carried live on television over the House of Assembly Channel.

Following the ceremony in the House of Assembly the Lieutenant Governor will proceed to the Confederation Building lobby where he will receive the Vice Regal Salute and inspect the Guard of Honour. There will also be a 15-gun artillery salute. (Artillery will be set up in the east end of Confederation Building grounds.)

The House of Assembly Broadcast Centre will provide a media feed. Media representatives are asked to be in place by 2:00 p.m. on the day of the ceremony.

Media representatives intending to cover the installation of the Lieutenant Governor are asked to contact the Communications Branch at 709-729-3812, 691-7478 by 3 p.m., Friday, February 1.
