Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Clyde Jackman, acting Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION PLAN RECEIVED:

Long Harbour Commercial Nickel Processing Plant
Proponent: Vale Inco Newfoundland & Labrador Limited                            (Reg. 1243) 

The proponent has submitted an Environmental Protection Plan (EPP) for the construction phase as required on August 25, 2008, as one of the conditions of release from the environmental assessment review. Public comments on the EPP must be received by December 24, 2008.  A link to this document has been posted on the Environmental Assessment Division�s web page for this project.
