Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Charlene Johnson, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

ENVIRONMENTAL PREVIEW REPORT SUBMITTED:

Bloom Lake Railway (Resubmission)
Proponent: Consolidated Thompson Iron Mines Ltd.                            (Reg. 1378)

The proponent has submitted an Environmental Preview Report (EPR) for the proposed
railway as required by the minister on July 3, 2008. The EPR was required to address deficiencies in the registration document to determine the significance of any environmental effects. Guidelines for the preparation of the EPR were issued on August 25, 2008. Public comments regarding the EPR are welcome and must be received no later than October 6, 2008. The document can be viewed on the website indicated below.
