Media Advisory: Minister to Participate in Friends of Beaches Network Event

The Honourable Charlene Johnson, Minister of Environment and Conservation, will participate in Ocean Net�s clean up of the St. Phillip�s Beach tomorrow (Saturday, April 19), in honour of Earth Day 2008. The event gets underway at approximately 11:30 a.m.

The clean up marks the launch of Ocean Net�s new Friends of Beaches Network program. A clean up of the Portugal Cove Beach will also take place at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, led by Ocean Net. The Clarenville Heritage Society will spearhead a clean up of the beach in Island Cove, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
