Public Advisory: Crabbes River Bridge Along Trailway Closed Until Further Notice

The public is advised the Trailway bridge spanning Crabbes River, located in the Town of St. Fintans, Western Newfoundland, is closed, effective immediately, to all pedestrian, ATV, snowmobile, and vehicular traffic until further notice.

Due to an ice jam, the bridge will be closed until a structural engineering analysis is carried out. The purpose of this analysis is to determine if any structural damage has occurred as a result of the ice jam.

The Provincial Government has erected signs and barricades on the Crabbes River Trailway structure. In the interest of public safety, the public should refrain from using this bridge until further notice.

The situation will be closely monitored and an update will be provided when the engineering analysis is completed.
