Inspections of
T’Railway Structures Completed
All inspections along
the T’Railway Provincial Park have now been completed, the Honourable
Charlene Johnson, Minister of Environment and Conservation, announced
today.
All structures between
St. John’s and Stephenville are now re-opened with the exception of
Glide Brook near Deer Lake. A further assessment has determined that
the structure will remain closed until further notice.
Following a further
engineering assessment, Mary Ann Brook and Black Duck Brook are now
re-opened to the public.
Engineering assessments of the bridges between Stephenville and Port aux
Basques were completed over the last two days and the following
structures will remain closed:

· Robinsons
River West |
· Robinsons
River East
· Flat
Bay Bridge
· Morris
Brook Bridge
· Codroy
North Branch Bridge |
“We have recommended
closure until identified public safety issues are addressed,” said
Minister Johnson.
“I cannot stress enough
the tremendous effort of the engineers/technicians, conservation
officers and parks personnel in carrying out these inspections. I am
delighted that all of these inspections are complete, and the structures
determined safe are now re-opened for public use.”
