Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Charlene Johnson, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Lethbridge Agricultural Development
Proponent: Mr. Frasier Greening, Triple "G" Farms                                               (Reg. 1366)

This project involves the development of approximately 224 hectares for forage crop production within a 437 hectare Crown Land agricultural lease. The site is located off Jacks Pond Resource Road, approximately one kilometre southeast of Route 230 on the Bonavista Peninsula. The project proposal includes a class C-2 gravel access road and the development of forage fields to increase the productive land base of Triple "G" Farms. No additional farm infrastructure will be associated with this project. Construction of the access road will begin in the spring of 2008; arable land will be developed over a 10 year period. 

The undertaking was registered on February 15, 2008; public comments are due by March 27, 2008; and the minister's decision is due on March 31, 2008.

Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, prior to the deadline date shown.
