Media Advisory: Meeting of Council of Atlantic Ministers of Education and Training

The Council of Atlantic Ministers of Education and Training (CAMET) will hold a news conference at 1:30 p.m. on April 15 in Spencer Rooms II and III at the Saint John Trade and Convention Centre.

CAMET is comprised of the Honourable Kelly Lamrock, New Brunswick Minister of Education; the Honourable Edward Doherty, New Brunswick Minister of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour; the Honourable Joan Burke, Newfoundland and Labrador Minister of Education; the Honourable Karen Casey, Nova Scotia Minister of Education; the Honourable Gerard Greenan, Prince Edward island Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development; and the Honourable Richard Brown, Prince Edward Island Minister of Innovation and Advanced Learning.

The scheduled CAMET news conference will be held in conjunction with the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC) Pan-Canadian Forum on Literacy. The ministers will provide a summary of discussions held at the forum and outline next steps to further promote literacy within Atlantic Canada.

Simultaneous interpretation services will be provided during the ministers� news conference. The communiqu� will be distributed by each province�s communications office following the news conference, and will be accessible at //www.camet-camef.ca.

All media representatives, including journalists, photographers, camera operators, and technicians, may register by submitting their name, affiliation, and contact information by April 11 to Angela Buckles at the CAMET Secretariat by phone (902-424-5488), email (abuckles@cap-cpma.ca) or fax (902-424-8976).
