Transportation and Works July 6, 2007 Public Advisory: Northern Ranger and Astron to Service Makkovik and Postville The Honourable John Hickey, Minister of Transportation and Works and Minister Responsible for Labrador Affairs, announced today that due to improved ice conditions, ferry vessels Northern Ranger and Astron will depart Tuesday, July 10, for the northern Labrador communities of Makkovik and Postville. The Northern Ranger will head north from Goose Bay, while the Astron leaves from Lewisporte. As a result, effective immediately, the Department of Transportation and Works is accepting freight bound for Makkovik and Postville.
