Public Advisory: Sir Robert Bond to Begin Ferry Service on Friday

The Honourable John Hickey, Minister of Transportation and Works and Minister Responsible for Labrador Affairs, announced today that due to improved ice conditions on the Labrador Coast, south of Groswater Bay, the ferry Sir Robert Bond, which services Lewisporte-Cartwright-Goose Bay, will commence service Friday, June 22.

However, the north coast is still impacted by very heavy ice conditions which continue to prevent the Northern Ranger, which runs from Goose Bay-Nain and the Astron, which services the North Labrador Coast, from commencing their summer schedules.

The Department of Transportation and Works will issue a further advisory next week.
