Government Invests Over Half a Million Dollars for
Road Improvements in Grand Falls-Buchans

Government is addressing safety concerns by investing $600,000 in the Buchans Highway.

"This is the largest investment in the district's roads in the past seven years," said the Honourable John Hickey, Minister of Transportation and Works. "We are aware of the concerns motorists have regarding the condition of the Buchans Highway. My officials have assessed the highway and we will address the concern by resurfacing the section of Route 370 most in need of repair.

"Government will once again inject $60 million into the Provincial Roads Improvement Program which enables us to make this significant investment. We are committed to improving the transportation infrastructure in rural Newfoundland and Labrador and providing motorists with safe, reliable roads."

Early funding for road improvements will allow the tendering process and construction season to begin much sooner.
