Exhibit to Officially
to Open at The Rooms, Thursday, August 16

The exhibit, The Holloways: Newfoundland's First Family of Photography will officially open at The Rooms, Thursday, August 16. A public presentation by exhibit curator and accomplished photographer Manfred Buchheit will be held at 7:00 p.m., with a public reception to follow at 7:45 p.m.

The Holloways: Newfoundland's First Family of Photography represents the work of Robert E. Holloway, educator, scientist and amateur photographer; son Bert Holloway, WWI solider and professional photographer; and daughter Elsie Holloway, Newfoundland's first professional female photographer. Through their photography, the Holloways contributed priceless images to the rich visual history of Newfoundland and Labrador, drawing together an exquisite collection of photographs from the turn of the twentieth century.

Note: Media representatives are invited to schedule advance tours and/or interviews with exhibit curator Manfred Buchheit, prior to the official opening on August 16.
