Newfoundland hosts Provincial Swim Camp

Swimming Newfoundland and Labrador are pleased to announce that they are hosting a provincial swim camp to be held in Stephenville from Thursday, August 30, until Sunday, September 2. A Skills Level One Coaching Course will also be offered in conjunction with the swim camp.

The swim camp is open to all swimmers in Newfoundland and Labrador who have attained the East Coast Swim Standards.

The camp will see coaches from all over Newfoundland and Labrador taking part with two guest coaches from British Columbia. Annie Wolfe is a graduate of University of Montreal with NCCP Level 4 Diploma from the National Coaching Institute Vancouver. Annie was awarded the Women in Coaching Scholarship in 2005. She has mentored with some of the most experienced coaches around the world and specializes in dryland training.

Brad Dingey is a graduate of University of Alberta with his NCCP Level 4 Diploma from the National Coaching Institute Vancouver.  He has received the Petro-Canada / Olympic Torch Coaching scholarships. He mentored under Tom Johnson and Steve Price at the National Swim Center in Vancouver.

The three days will also see a variety of team building opportunities as the province continues to prepare its athletes for the next Canada Summer Games.
