Basketball Association Annual General Meeting

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will be hosting their Annual General Meeting this Saturday, June 23, in St. John�s. A few topics on the agenda include the Steve Nash Youth Basketball Program, 2009 NL Winter Games age classifications, the NL Sports Centre and the 2007 Election of Officers. The current president of the association, Dr. Bas Kavanagh will be seeking re-election.

During the AGM, four individuals will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, including; Tony Reardon (Builder) of St. Mary�s Bay, Cyril Simmons (Builder) of Harbour Grace, Soon Wong (Builder) from St. John�s and John Walsh (Official) from Mount Pearl. NLBA awards will be presented to Mary Mandville of St. John�s (Minor Female Coach of the Year), Cyril Simmons of Harbour Grace (Minor Male Coach of the Year) Blair White of St. John�s (Elite Coach of the Year) Lucy Price of Outer Cove (Achievement Award), John Best of Holyrood (Achievement Award) and Roger Head of Paradise will receive the President�s Award.
