The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Provincial Basketball Championships

Over 1,000 basketball players will represent 67 teams competing this weekend, April 27-29 in the U15 Boys & Girls A, B and C Provincial Pepsi Basketball Championships.

The East Coast Boys A division will be hosted at Brother Junior High with eight teams competing: the East Coast Boys B will be played at St. Kevin�s in the Gould�s with eight teams entered while the East Coast Boys C will take place at Baltimore School in Ferryland.

The East Coast Girls A will be hosted by Roncalli of Avondale with five teams competing for the title: the East Coast Girls B will take place at St. Francis School in Hr. Grace with eight teams entered while the East Coast Girls C will be hosted by Clarenville Middle School also with eight teams entered.

The West Coast Boys A will take place at Exploits Valley in Grand Falls Windsor with six teams competing while the West Coast Boys B will be played at Lakewood Academy in Glenwood with eight teams competing for the title. The West Coast Girls A championship will take place at G. C. Rowe in Corner Brook with five teams competing while the West Coast Girls B will he hosted by Pasadena Academy in Pasadena also with five teams entered.

Tournament play commences on Friday and will conclude with the championship games slated for Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon. For a complete schedule of each event please visit the Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Associations Web site at www.nlba.nf.ca.
