April 19, 2007 Tourism, Culture and Recreation The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador: Provincial Basketball Championships Seventeen teams will compete this weekend, April 20-22 in the U17 Girls "A", "B" and "C" Provincial Pepsi Basketball Championships. The A division will be hosted by Gonzaga High School with six teams competing. Other teams competing include: Booth, Bishop�s, Holy Heart, St. Kevin�s and O�Donel. The B division will consist of six teams and will be hosted by Roncalli of Avondale. Other teams entered include: Baltimore of Ferryland, Exploits Valley of Grand Falls-Windsor, St. Bonaventure of St. John�s, Mobile High along with Laval of Placentia. Five teams will compete in the C division at St. Catherine�s Academy on Salmonier Line. Other teams entered include Mobile 10�s; St. Lawrence, Clarenville and Beaconsfield 9�s of St. John�s. Tournament play commences on Friday and will conclude with the championship games slated for Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon.
