The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Provincial Basketball Championships

The U16 Boys Provincial Pepsi Championships will be held this weekend in Avondale and Mt. Carmel. Five schools will compete at Roncalli High School for the "A" division championship including, Roncalli, Gonzaga, Corner Brook, Bishops and Booth Memorial. The "B" division will entertain St. Catherine�s, Mount Pearl High, Laval of Placentia, Gander Collegiate, Clarenville High, Dunne Academy of St. Mary�s and Prince of Wales Collegiate and St. Bonaventure of St. John�s.

Tournament play commences on Friday and will conclude with the championship games slated for Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.
