NL Canada Games Shooter Takes Silver at International Air Gun Match

Team NL rifle shooters concluded their preparations for the Whitehorse Canada Games this past weekend by shooting at the 25th annual Canadian Air Gun Grand Prix, in Toronto. This year four of our junior rifle athletes and their coach traveled competed.

The highlight was Tilton native, Chad Gosse�s, silver medal in the men�s 1200 point event. Chad set a personal best of 1,094 and has advanced into the expert classification. Chad also managed a personal best relay of 553 / 600 on his opening relay. Chad�s teammate Peter Fitzgerald finished 11th in the master class with a 1,021. Team coach Dave Woolridge, also shooting in the men�s master event finished the weekend with 1,124 earning him ninth place.

Our women shooters also posted some strong results. First time shooter on the team, Erin Warr, posted a 753 in the women�s 800 point match. This put her in fourth place in the women�s master class narrowly missing the cut score for the women�s rifle finals. Finally, Brenda Greene narrowly missed out on a bronze medal in the women�s expert class, shooting 736 points.
