Public Advisory: Province Conducting Prescribed Burns

The Department of Natural Resources advises that it will conduct two prescribed burns this week one near Little Crabbes River and the other near Seal Bay in the Roberts Arm area. In each instance, the burn is being done as part of silviculture management activity to prepare sites for planting.

The burn near Crabbes River will commence today (Tuesday, September 18), and will take place approximately two kilometres off the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH). The second burn is scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday, September 19), and will take place approximately 45 kilometres from the TCH Roberts Arm Intersection along the Seal Bay Access Road. Each prescribed burn will continue for several days, when weather conditions permit.
