Media Advisory: Ministers Attend NEG/ECP Meetings in Quebec

The Honourable Kathy Dunderdale, Minister of Natural Resources, and the Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Environment and Conservation, are attending the Energy and Environment Policymakers Forum in Quebec City Sunday and Monday, February 11 and 12.

The forum is being held at the direction of the New England Governors (NEG) and Eastern Canadian Premiers (ECP). The NEG/ECP directed policymakers (ministers and U.S. secretaries and commissioners) to meet to develop recommendations for addressing energy issues on a regional level. Issues of regional interest include trade, transmission, infrastructure expansion, renewable forms of energy, conservation, energy efficiency and alternative sources of energy. The forum is taking place at the Chateau Frontenac, Quebec City. Recommendations will be submitted to Governors and Premiers at their next annual conference in Prince Edward Island in June 2007
